The goal of PTA Programs is to improve the education, health and well-being of our students.  Haggard PTA offers a number of programs focused on increasing family engagement and supporting our students.  All of these programs are funded by the generous donations of our Haggard families.

We are always looking for new volunteers to help with our programs.  If you are interested in helping, please sign up using our online volunteer tool.

SAGE  PISDSAGELogo

SAGE stands for Special and Gifted Education and was established by the Plano Council of PTAs in 2003 to provide the opportunity for families and teachers of students who learn differently to share resources. SAGE’s main focus is to communicate about events through various forms of media throughout the school year.

Reflections is a national PTA sponsored arts recognition program that encourages artistic expression.  The theme for this year’s program is “What is Your Story?”  Students should reflect on the theme and create an original work of art.  Art categories are: Literature,  Visual Arts, Photography, Musical Composition, Dance Choreography and Film Production.   There is no limit to the number of categories you may enter in.  Just abide by the entry guidelines, reflect the theme in your work, fill out the official entry form.  For more information, please contact the PISD PTA Arts in Education coordinator at arts@planopta.org.  We are looking for a Haggard parent to fill this open PTA Board position and coordinate with the Plano PTA Council to help organize this program at Haggard.  Contact Jill Fortenbaugh if you are interested.

Forms, Rules and Resources are now available, so start your entry today! Please use the participation rules as a guide.  Entry forms are available here.

We have WONDERFUL teachers and staff here at Haggard and it is our privilege to treat them on occasion.  Throughout the year, we provide lunch, monthly treats and more.   Contact Amy Piesker at apiesker@gmail.com if you are interested in helping.

Adopt a staff member

Because we have an amazing staff of 95, that spend their days teaching our children, take a moment and adopt a staff member to anonymously appreciate this school year.  One day during the first week of each month, leave a treat or something special for your adopted staff member.  Our Adopt-a-staff coordinator, Sherrie Hudson (emailus@hudsononthe.net), will send you a reminder.  At the end of the year, you can let them know who you are and who your child(ren) is (are).  If you have any questions, please let her know.  Sign up online here:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090e4baaac2ea02-adopt
